The multiplier reflects the combined leverage across our solar and medical programmes. In 2024, every €1 donated delivered €10.09 of project value, calculated by dividing the total value of goods, services, and projected savings by our total cash spending, including overhead.
That total value has three components: the cash spent directly on solar and medical projects, the market value of equipment and supplies donated in kind by our partners, and the fuel costs our solar installations will save partner facilities over the next ten years. Together, these mean that even a small contribution generates significantly more impact than the donation amount alone suggests.

Donations cover the full range of costs it takes to execute a project, from solar components and medical equipment to the shipping and logistics that get supplies from warehouse to hospital. Every part of the chain matters, and donations help fund all of it.
Where your donation is directed depends on how you give. If you contribute to a specific fundraiser, your donation goes directly to that project. Otherwise, contributions go to where we judge the need to be greatest across our solar and medical programmes, though on our donation page you can also choose to direct your gift specifically to one or the other.

We support existing local initiatives in healthcare and education rather than introducing new structures. In practice, this means hospitals select from a catalogue of over 20,000 medical items to meet their specific needs, while every solar installation is designed and engineered around the energy demands of the individual institution. This approach makes projects more effective and reduces waste, since resources go precisely where they are needed rather than where they are assumed to be needed.
